My Name

About time I finally figured I'd go out on a limb and give Han So-he's Ji-woo a shot, and I'm pretty happy with the results! Not a 1-to-1 illustration of her (even finer details like her outfit and weapons of choice are mostly a mish-mash of personal memory and various images I used to create a reference board), but it's honest work nonetheless. And I thought going with a flat red background would be neat and something simpler than how I usually work on backgrounds.

Anyway, just here to show my love for the series My Name, which will go down in history as one of my all-time favorite shows, especially with how it handled a female lead in the action space. I'll always argue how Asian action cinema does this leagues better than Hollywood and all the rest, particularly in believability and writing. The Villainess, another one from South Korea, comes to mind as a fine example of this, too. And My Name seems to take a lot of inspiration from that, as well. Heck! If memory serves me well, even the third John Wick film also took cues from that film.

Sorry for my pretentious cinephile ramblings, once more. Just reminds me that I really should go back and watch more films when I have the time to spare. I'll be out of your hair now. Thanks for checking my art out, and all the best of blessings!

Cheers!
God bless!!!
